Terrible-sounding drums. I have no idea why his leads, which I assume are the main focus of this album, are buried so deep under the rest of this slog. His vocals could also use a lot of work. There are some nice guitar parts here, but almost everything else needs a major overhaul for this album to be enjoyable.

World on Fire really blazes out of the gates showing the listener all of its flaws in the starting minute of the album. The guitar sounds like it is inside of some kind of hollow apparatus, the vocals are incredibly overwhelmed, the drums contain enough reverb that you think you hear them a second time with each hit and the songwriting is just thrown out the window. Yngwie wanks his way to one of the worst shredding centric albums of recent memory apparently not remembering that anything else matters on a record besides playing guitar like an absolute madman. You might never want to hear arpeggios again after an experience like this.

I want to enjoy this album based on how much love I have for much of Malmsteen's 80s material as well as the odd album after that such as Alchemy, but it sounds like Mister Malmsteen is ripping himself off, such as many of the melodies of one song being a blatant imitation of "Icarus Dream Suite Opus 4."

Atrociously produced self-indulgent tripe from Yngwie "I've forgotten how to write songs" Malmsteen. Three of the songs feature his wailing '80s vocals, which are thankfully buried in the mix, but even the instrumentals are nigh unlistenable due to the messy, sloppy, incredibly bad production job.
