Trip a blind man once and he'll get back up armed with a pimped out bokken. Meanwhile, by tripping the Snide creature more than simply twice, it is bound to find itself stuck in an uncertain world where there are nerds who finna Hit the Quan for some inexplicable reason. Under the moniker Black Malachite, Huntington Beach-based musician and Sputnik user Dalton Dubois' full-length debut album is finally upon us whether we like it or not. Entitled Distortion World, the record dabbles in a variety of sounds such as industrial, dubstep, and ambient while still firmly rooted in electronic music at its core. At 40 minutes long and featuring 17 tracks, the affair feels less like an album as it should and more akin to a collection of tunes - most of which are actually enjoyable, bear in mind - but Distortion World still doesn't exactly have a seamless flow from beginning to end. In conclusion, what's entertaining here is very entertaining and Dubois is an adept composer, that much is clear. Angel recommends: "The Great Escape," "Sunlight," "Glitch Memories," "The Motivation," "Serenity," and "Eternal".

I don't know anything about Dubstep whatsoever, but I enjoyed this. It does falter towards the end and the last 2
songs really have no reason to exist, but Snide's album gets a thumbs up from me. Definitely worth a shot for
those who enjoy this type of music; there's some legitimately great material here.
