Periphery perhaps come too hot on the heels of the Juggernaut albums with their weakest release yet. The first song sounds like a joke, especially Spencer's contributions. Motormouth has a badass Koloss by Meshuggah sounding breakdown, but other than that lacks memorability. Most of the tracks follow the same way in one form or another, as the band could really benefit from being more melodic. They need to focus on something for a bit, instead of drastically changing what's happening in the song every minute or two. Habitual Line-Stepper is the worst offender in that regard, at least having a cool melodic guitar section. Remain Indoors is the only track on here I can stand all the way through. The rest all annoy in one way or another due to unmemorable songwriting and cheesy pop elements (especially the second half). Spencer's singing is neither better nor worse than the previous releases, and while the lyrics aren't awful, they don't exactly help either. A disappointing lack of inspiration is obvious, and I can only recommend this to the most loyal of fans.

I don't think it's as good as their previous two releases, but it's still good. These guys have a ton of potential, but it's becoming obvious that they're happy just kind of being prog metal slackers.

Some of Periphery's greatest tracks are on this album. Lune, Absolomb, Remain Indoors, Prayer Position, The Way the News Goes, so many great tracks, and the emotional impact helps them a ton.

Possibly my favorite Periphery album. Most of the songs have great melodic taste with the usual djent influences in here. While some of their earlier releases were heavier and quite catchy, I feel like this has something special about it. Without Misha, I would not look at djent the same.

It's a Periphery album, proggy, heavy, a bit insane, a little too long for its own good. Despite the length, there are quite a few great songs and none of the others really are bad, but it does drag on a little.

I would be lying if I said the guitar work wasn't pretty impressive but these song titles and lyrics are so cringy, and the vocals are a bit grating. The album is pretty forgettable although Periphery's cheesy gaming theme is interesting enough.

Comedy metal troupe Psychostick once told me that 'p' was the best letter, but whenever I look at Washington, D.C.-based djent group Periphery's album covers time and time again, I'm more than convinced that's never really been the case. Select Difficulty: Getgood, Scrubs. Angel recommends: "Marigold," "The Way the News Goes...," "Habitual Line-Stepper," and "Absolomb".
