| 3.5 great | 00mee | May 23rd 16 | With its waves of throbbing synths and rafts of vocal acrobatics, Ology is built like the colossal giant walls of ancient greek architecture. Introvert or no, in its boldness Gallant shows off just how comfortable he is with throwing down one of 2016's most confident records. While at times it can feel a little wearisome, this is still worth checking out even for the most casual R+B fan.

| 2.5 average | DadEsquire | April 5th 16 | The comparisons to Frank Ocean feel inevitable but ultimately unwarranted. Gallant expands his
sound from his EP with live drums and overall better instrumentation. Some of the songs are
similarly structured, but there's enough variety to keep it fresh. I hear shades of 90's R&B acts
like Boys II Men and Seal, with a little bit of boom bap hip-hop at points. Much better production
than the EP. However, at 16 songs (with 2 interludes, 3 if you count "Oh, Universe"), it does
overstay its welcome at points, namely Counting and Open Up. Still, I would recommend this album
to anyone who is a fan of silky smooth falsettos.
Favorite Tracks: Oh Universe, Weight In Gold, Miyazaki, Jupiter, Chandra

| 3.0 good | dihstyle69 | April 1st 16 | gallant shows a lot of talent when it comes to lyrics and his vocals definitely bring those lyrics to life, painting a vivid picture of what's talking about. there are room for improvement and i felt like the project overstayed its welcome a little bit but this was a surprise, to be honest. gallant is in a league of his own, and it will be up to people to decide if he deserves to be in the spotlight. he's good! 3+
