An impressively well-crafted album. Andromeda took a far more focused approach to their music on this
record after the bold, energetic statement that was Extension Of The Wish. David Fremberg's first recorded
vocal performance is convincing enough (though there was still plenty of room for improvement), and while
the production lacks the edge that shows on later releases, it still manages to carry the songs adequately. The
songs are for the most part longer and more complex than those on the album's predecessor, and the
arrangements are much more dense, which may turn off some listeners. It also lacks some of the
memorability of Andromeda's other releases. However, II=I is still a very well-balanced effort and a worthy
addition to the collection of any prog metal enthusiast.
