This is bascially everything that makes Iggy Azalea intolerable amped up to 12 for fucks sake i don't get how people are defending this garbage.

Now it appears that Charlotte Aitchison (aka Charli XCX) is in her mum's car, Vroom Vroom! Going off the review and the majority of the ratings for the release so far, I was anticipating to loathe the bejeezus out of this EP - or at best feel uber-indifferent towards it. But having heard the recording in its 12-minute entirety, I can say without hesitation that it's not really half-bad. Harmless and fun with a dash of wacky, Charli XCX and record producer SOPHIE have created a small library of tunes that are best enjoyed without relying on one's brain. Excluding "Trophy", the other three songs are by no means inherently atrocious, with my personal favorite number being "Paradise"; after a while, the chipmunk vocals start to grow on you.

While Charli never was an impressive singer, her energy and the beats surrounding her were what allowed her to skyrocket to famedom. Gotta say SOPHIE's beats aren't my fav of them - each track alternates between banging and irritating. Definitely an interesting release though, it really kickstarted Charli's foray into hyperpop, and further cemented SOPHIE as one of the most important producers of their era.

I hope that top soundoff is being ironic because this is a very intriguing release which not only shows how bubblegum bass kept improving, but also Charli XCX starting to experiment more and tread new grounds. The opening/eponymous track is one of the best of the genre, while the rest of the EP while not as gripping, is just as good.

couldn't disagree more with the majority of the scores being given to this ep. people are probably shitting all over the tape because it's from charli xcx, who dropped a very overrated, underwhelming pop album two years ago but now that she joined forces with sophie, things got waaaay more interesting, with all these glitchy, dynamic beats fitting charli's energy perfectly. terribly underrated imo, even if i agree that it never reaches its full potential. 3+

Sophie's production is as sleek as the whip on the cover but refuses to approach grandiose, instead opting for the minimalist battiness of percussive booms/bubble bursts/woozy synths/cattily clarion yips -- which serves as quite the felicitous vehicle for Charli's mix of can't-be-caught by bitches/can't-lose to bitches pugnacity and baby-voiced sky-ride sugar-rushin'. Percipient and proud when it comes to bubblegum brashness and innovative clubby obnox; and in the sensibly small space of 12 minutes at least, makes for a pretty scrumptious joyride.
