| 0.0 | didnt ask to be staff, was made staff anyway, then got demoted for not doing staff stuff | October 10th 23 | Here I go bumping an older who-gives-a-shit release. I remember him opening for Muse a fucktonne of years ago and it definitely fit the bill. The album is certainly a 'Phase', as it claims, terminally settled in the contemporaneous trends of sterile post-dubstep explosions, and song-writing too unfortunately hellbent on maintaining those crescendos at the expense of any other trick or technique. It is too reliant on finding the hit-making sweet-spot, ultimately ending up lacking any personality of its own, contributing nothing of substance.

| 3.5 great | gofrosty | February 24th 16 | What Jack does on this is relatively unique. He uses a bunch of really heavy synths, beats, and drops that wouldn't sound out of place on modern EDM records and balances them with frequently soft, R&B-esque vocals. Its electro pop but the instrumentals aren't usually as clean and sparkly as something like, say, Chvrches. Its not a mix I've heard before and frequently works quite well. The softer tracks are more hit and miss but the production on the closer of the standard edition, My House is Your Home, is wonderful and pretty unique.
