Now that it's finally here, I would like to say that whereas it does not compare to ss2's extensive and diverse sound or ss1's jarring textures and juxtaposition, ss3 more than exceeds in brevity and cohesiveness. The perfect closing statement to the musical journey young thug has put us through with the slime season trilogy

Personality. Young Thug provides a quick 28 minute album that is, almost, 100% straight from the man himself and he sure shines throughout the whole runtime. Slime Season 3 comes off as very focused with excellent beats, infectious hooks and most important of all a natural, unforced approach. The best Trap Rap comes from the artists that don't pretend and just leave themselves on the recording. Young Thug panders to no one and only allows guest verses in one track which is probably the least memorable one on the album despite its excellent beat. Lyrically Young Thug is obviously not the next Nas but once again he provides a tailored style that no one else has going right now and drops a refreshing mix of puns and borderline goofiness at times. The screaming outburst in Drippin' also adds to the slimy greatness on this EP. Last but not least is the savage use of autotune; obnoxious to some people but it is rather obvious the effect he is going for and achieves. It becomes harder and harder to not just default to listening to this album lately: a quick runtime, 1000s of memorable lines, top-notch hooks and... personality. With Them, Memo, Drippin', Digits and Tattoos rule while everything else is still worth it.

With Slime Season 3, Young Thug finally understands a mixtape doesn't have to be 70 mins long. With less than 30 minutes of runtime, SS3 is a mighty succession of trap bangers that do not show as much diversity as the first two episodes, but the record's succinctness makes for the series' most cohesive piece.

Cleanliness+consistency uber-upped from the preceding pair of this slimy series -- as confirmed by the right-away gag-hook of a sky-high fellator being labeled an airhead, cleanliness pertains to production only -- but most notable by far in this installment is the benevolent brevity, second most is the resultant consolidated horsepower. Perhaps he got the "Memo" that 8 tracks in 28 minutes is infinitely more viable than yet another half-good 70+minute hodgepodge, 'specially when all 8 tote a hook that kills, a beat that really tries, and an explosion of personality. And in the midst of the aforementioned airhead and the slime bitch and the tatted+pierced bitch, there's the bonafide ballad for the bitch who's "Worth It", i.e. his fiancee. The Cunning Come-on? "I need a deep throat baby, swallow me."
