| 3.5 great | Alabaster Jones | March 26th 16 | The beginnings of what is commonly referred to as "Cascadian black metal", that is, black metal made from bands in the Cascade Range in Washington, are heard in this demo, many humble though they may be, it's still an emotional and interesting listen. Of course, the Cascadian sound was surely predicated by Weakling and to a lesser extent Agalloch, but Wolves In The Throne Room really made the sound their own in many ways, the first inklings of which are all here to experience. It's production raw, it's guitar and drums both blisteringly fast and well toned for a demo, and it's vocals emotive and strong, Wolves In The Throne Room is surely one of the most important demos in the American black metal scene.

| 3.0 good | MoosechriS | April 7th 11 | A good snapshot of the bands formative year, with glimpses here and there of the band they have gone on to become. This is the sound of a new band finding its sound and although at times it can sound disjointed, there still are some great moments. If your a fan of WITTR i recomend you check this out, but don't go expecting any lost classics.
