The remastered and re-arranged effort of their Waterworld album. The album alone is already amazing, and this re-arrangement makes album a tad more enjoyable than their previous effort. Yet this change had little to no enhancement of this stellar album. I guess my "track re-arrange" theory cannot be applied for every album...

With 'Masters of the Universe,' Binary Star puts itself at the top of the underground rap game, despite never releasing a follow up. The lyrics are thoughtful and they do a great deal of putting down the 'mainstream sound.' The beats and flow are of high quality as well, with the former taking a backseat to the rap itself.

23 songs, quite a few filler tracks, but still, so much substance. The production lets you know you are listening to an indie group. Groovy jazz bass, solid drum beats, and a bit of turntablism here and there. Nothing ultra-flashy, because the lyricists are the shining stars here. Standout tracks are "Masters of the Universe", "Honest Expression", and the guest-star infused "The KGB."
