This album embodied the wacky, hilarious, laid back feeling of not only The Aquabats as a band, but ska in general. Their songs are all woven together into a fantastic comic-book style story of the group (superheroes.) Musicianship leaves some to be desired, though, as the band tends to hover between solid ska and grind-style guitars. Nonetheless, the songs are catchy and will leave you in stitches, particularly Theme Song!, Super Rad! (a type of power-up song,) and Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates!, whose whimsical story sounds as if it were torn from the minds of the Monty Python troupe. This is The Aquabats' best ska-oriented album, and is possibly the funniest of all. Don't go in expecting too much of musical complexity or innovation, but rather a twisted trip through the world of grown superheroes singing about supervillians in sweaters.

I like to believe that there's nothing in the world that could be any more nostalgic than thinking back to when you were a kid who reeked of pure, light-hearted innocence. Comparing the past to the present can be rather jarring for some out there, and in all fairness, folks have a tough time deciding whether the Internet, porno mags, or Vietnam flashbacks are to blame for sucking the fun out of humankind as we know it. I'm slowly losing my brain cells, so allow me to set the record straight: The Fury of the Aquabats! is a very entertaining album by comedy rock band/superheroes The Aquabats!, combining the group's original ska flavor with punk and surf rock flourishes. It's got plenty of unforgettable songs and the musicianship throughout most of this release is energetic, youthful, and suits the general mood these caped crusaders (not you, Batman!) are going for. Whilst this might not be everyone's cup of tea probably due to the gimmick and the songwriting is rather stilted - albeit just a smidge - The Fury of... is far from a snoozefest. Getting EMOTIONAL!

great energy but thats about it they zoom through everything without leaving any real impact like a rollercoaster youre in line for an hour but then its over so fast you barely remember the thrill

Mix the instrumentation of streetlight, the humor of Municipal Waste, and the theatrical performance of Foxy Shazam, and you have this album. You cannot have a bad time with this album
