3.1 good | Voivod STAFF | January 15th 16 | Haven't heard the previous Cauldron albums, so I am not aware how the band differentiates itself in this one. It seems, though, that a conscious effort was made in rounding the edges of late '70s/early '80s hard rocking metal, in favor of a more anthemic sound. While the effort is successful, all songs feel overly similar, especially in view of the "linear" rhythm section and the fitting, but rather unimpressive vocals. Favourite track: Come Not Here. 3.0 good | Xenorazr | September 5th 16 | Catchy, casual 70's/80's throwback. This is a no-frills deal; you'll know exactly what you're in for listening to any of the nine tracks. Fair background music for an 80's themed party that's nearing its end.

3.0 good | elcrawfodor | January 14th 16 | Look past the snooze-fest opener "No Return / In Ruin" and the rest of the album offers some fun riffs to mindlessly headbang to. Unfortunately, the drumming's pretty boring, and the vocalist sounds like a post-food-poisoning James LaBrie. The middle of the album's pretty decent, even if its instrumental is just an "Orion" wanna-be.
