This album made a huge impact on my life not too long ago, and as of today it still remains one of
my dearest albums. A close family member of mine died a long while back, and ever since this album
has helped me come to terms with the passing. The Ape of Naples is easily one of the
greatest sounding records I've ever heard, and sadly the last album with the band entirely. This
album is creepily haunting, beautiful, euphoric, sentimental...pretty much any positive descriptor
you can garnish, this album is simply amazing. Lyrically, the album revolves around death,
forgiveness, suicide, tragedy, heartbreak, and bitter travesties of love. Although this album is
incredibly depressing and brooding, quite thought-provoking and spooky. 'Going Up' is easily one
of the most devastatingly emotional tracks I've ever heard.
