Post-punk and noise rock have been experiencing a revival of sorts regarding creativity, versatility and form. This album propels that movement in a jarring and altogether interesting direction. It isn't anti-rock necessarily, but it sure as hell is anti-boredom.

A group of Irish lads rockin' out post-punky noise rock tunes with industrial and no wave tendencies: the album. It makes for an always foot-stomping and head-bopping record whose vocal deliveries end up being its weakest point. The constant energy, coupled with the feedback and dissonance, are to be lauded, but overall the songs themselves resemble more the opener of a punk band's show than songs developing on their premises. Apart from that, gud shi.

I think this doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. It's rich and heavy and kind of morbid too, and i still remember watching the video for 'Paul' the first time through.

While I appreciate this non-girl-band's insistent primodial-minimal take on dirt-punk noise-rock, and of course their feedback gusts that could remove wallpaper, can't say I'm as fond of the try-hard puerile-foodie vocalist. Try-hard as in Taz-in-a-blender conniptions when it comes to obnox-level, try-hard as in embellished snotty indifference. Puerile-foodie as in what that yellin' is all about ("Spend my time watching Top Gear with my trousers down / Covered in Sudocream and talking to myself / Garlic curry cheese chips").
