album is worth a grab for it alone. Dre has never strayed from quality, and he continues

the beats/production are what we have come to expect from the dr. & some of the verses are
really nice.when compared to past dre albums this is average at best & doesn't do much for
me let's be honest this is being over hyped.

Just really uninteresting... doesn't sound like something only Dre could do. The production basically sounds like a bunch of Boi-1da beats from 2010 and the lyrics are pretty standard fare, aside from a few great verses from Kendrick, Snoop, etc. Even the sound of the album is just over-produced, digital, cold and lifeless. Sounds like it was mixed specially for Dre's bullshit headphones.rI dunno, man, I just feel nothing when I listen to this album.

Depends how much commercial/mainstream rap you listen to I guess. The bars so low. Anything as average as this can have people creaming themselves.

If this is his grand finale after 16 long years of waiting, I'm honestly underwhelmed. The beats and instrumentals
are awesome, but the actual rapping on this is pretty mediocre. I have a feeling if he actually ever would've
dropped Detox around 2007-2009 it would've been much better than this and more focused. This seemed
rushed and thrown together.

all these songs are crafted so well. everyone who comes on for a feature is throwing a hundred miles an hour and the overall energy and vibe are impeccable. its very cinematic, and pretty inspirational too, considering how glossy, shiny, and meticulous everything is. those dre beats man... shit.

This album is what happens when an old school rappers tries to mix with the new. With awkward beats and lame autotune. This sounds like every other water downed hip hop album of the past 5 years. The hooks were very whack too. There was way to many unneeded guest appearances. The only artists that were good on this album were Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Jon Conner, Snoop Dogg, and The Game. This album was overhyped. People were acting like Jesus was being resurrected again. It's a good album but way overhyped. Like 16 years for this? This isn't close to being a classic like his other two albums. It's Dre and other rappers rapping over trap type beats, with decent gangster lyrics, with garbage hooks. Everyone verses had good a good flow though. But Eminem and Kendrick went all out. We got such a raw Kendrick and an Eminem we haven't seen in 10 years. The wordplay was clever though. Good try Dr. Dre not worth the 16 years though. I was expecting another classic like Chronic and 2001.

you either accept the path dr. dre took in terms of his approach to hip hop or you don't. if you're expecting the chronic part 2 or even something remotely similar to 2001, you're going to be disappointing. otherwise, there's no reason for you to dislike this project.. dr. dre brought the best out of everybody and made them spit great bars over dark, moody and agressive beats to create what is easily his most mature, darker album to date. not his best and far from a classic but it's a damn great return from the doctor! 4-

The contrivance of this coming into existence solely as a convenient money-maker film-companion seems inescapable, and the shallow greed-boasts and put-downs don't help -- contextually, they come off pretty insensible. But true to its soundtrack-but-not-really appellation, it makes for a high-octane cinematic experience, a grand+gritty ensemble studded with stars and non-stars alike. Oldish-timers Xzibit / Ice Cube / Snoop / Eminem receive red-carpet treatment, The Game gets comparative throwaway and a ref, who's-that-again Anderson .Paak is decidedly spotlit, DJ Premiere pragmatically employs breezy 90's nostalgia; no party involved disappoints. Speaking of which, never underestimate Dre's use of femme-hooks, either. Or Kendrick in general. Or the unforgettable theatrical smatterings that wallop you every time: black-murder doo-wop suspension, the chain-rattling grudge-trudge of a workhorse, murder+disposal, mid-song crime spree, an almost-drowning. And the beats? C'mon.
