Well, it's nice to discover another band from my city (Nottingham). Listening to this debut album by Fudge Tunnel, I can see a lot of similarities to Clucth's early days and Acid Bath, but this certainly brings the grit and the riff power. I believe the album really picks up during the second half, as the first few songs didn't grab my attention as much. I like the more metallic, extreme side of songs like "Soap and Water" and "Tweezers" and that cover of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" is pretty ace. Only thing that dragged the overall quality down a bit for me was how the vocals sometimes seem a little too restrained (not as prominent as the instrumentation if I'm honest), but it's generally a really good sludgy piece of music.
