The dejectedness of the vocals, intriguing lyricism, and emotional performances make The Agent of Intellect one of those comfort releases that get me out of a bad day, whether it's the deeply sad Ellen and Pontiac 87, or the sinister Why Does It Shake?; Protomartyr has released one of the most emotionally potent rock albums of the 2010s.
