4.5 superb | SkapalPes | June 8th 15 | This is a collection of live recordings from years 1987-89. In late 1980s the band started to perform under a pseudonym P.V.O. (Dog Soldiers in Person) and the Prague Junior Club Na Chmelnici became their home stage. They didn`t play under their full name because of the problems with Czech secret police.
Sound of the record is surprisingly very good and clean. This album perfectly shows where they were musically in that period, mostly playing as a trio (piano/voc, bg, dr), occasionally with guests (here: trumpet in 1 song and alt-sax in 1 song). Their underground piano rock is very original not only in Czechoslovak scene, perfectly using a contrast between rich and sometimes jazzy piano melodies and rock rhytmics. And they have strong leader in the person of Filip Topol, generally singing his own poetry.
Live version of PV`s big hit "Ziletky" is also present here.
