The album title says it all:
Can I have some solid catchy songs?
How about some interesting harmonies?
Well I'm sure it still has an awesome mariachi feel to it, right?
No. You can have some predictable vocals and a bit of trumpet. Quit begging. Fine. Here, have some

Fairly boring and lacks the typical charm that Beirut typically brings to the table. Okay overall but a pretty big miss for the band.

Apart from the minimal vibe and shortness of the album, it has the same charm of other Beirut releases. If not so strong or impressing, it's a very cozy listen.

It's Beirut as you'd expect them at this point to be. Leaning more towards pop than gulag at this point, catchy
mumbly vocals, and a pleasant sound. I wish the album was a LOT longer than it is (seriously? 4 years and we
get 30 minutes of music), but for what it is, it's good.

The album has a Latin American groove to it, that puts David Byrne's 'Rei Momo' in mind. Not a terrible album, but as it is a bit of a departure for Beirut, those who liked 'Gulag Orkestar' may be disappointed.

It's okay. Nothing great.
I was hyped a little bit when I heard about release. So, the album is a little disppointment.
I was waiting more brass and accordion sounding balkan music, but this album is nothing like that.
Somehow the magic is gone.
