Brian Eno is the cure for insomnia, and I mean that in the least insulting way possible. Ambient 1: Music For Airports is music that I know will always aid me in my often futile quest for sleep, valiantly demanding little attention and heroically relaxing a stressed out me. The album's sparse, simple beauty is a testament to Eno's seemingly effortless creative genius and pioneering, and while many will not enjoy this album's lack of intensity and minimal mainstream appeal, anybody who is a fan of ambient music deserves to have this album as part of their collection.

This music is great for everything. Great Study Music. Great Meditation Music. Great Music. You know. I think the genius of it really is how simplistic it was, in a time where simplicity was left for folk or punk artists.

This album is monumental for any fans of ambient electronica. Eno's soothing piano work is ace and although this record isn't for everyone it almost forces you to kick back and relax. This was the third Eno album I purchased and although I was used to his more post-punk influenced stuff Ambient One: Music For Airports always does it for me. The only downside is that the music can get boring at points, but that's easy to understand since this is ambient music.

Considering this was effectively the first ambient album ever, I can give props. However, compared to any more recent ambient I've listened to (which, in all fairness, is not a lot) it seems pretty meh. I would just rather listen to the back half of Bowie's Low.

Ambient 1 is among my favorite Brian Eno projects. It always manages to bring me to a meditative, calm space when I need it. Every note played feels both immaculately placed and also like it was an accident, and it gives the whole album a dreamy vibe. I always feel like I'm lying in a field, looking up at the clouds, and slowly falling asleep.

Distilled, elemental, patient and seemingly vacant. The few moments of trembling anticipation, that might prefigure some great breakthrough or climax, quickly subside. This would frustrate, if not for the record's ingenious use of space. Matter and antimatter. Void and volume. Inhalation and exhalation. Whispers, but never speech. What Eno offers sonically is not a cleansing rainstorm, nor a complex river system - all tributaries and runoff, green fingers fanning out across yellow land - but instead a solitary drop in an ocean. Yes, all well and good. But where are the guitar solos and drum fills, Brian?

This is an amazing album. Love it! I love soundtracks and this is basically one. It is just so calm and beautiful. It is good music to relax to and just looking outside while listening to it is awesome.

Eno's ambient installations are absolutely sublime, and this one is by far his best. In short, the album title sets the mood and general atmosphere for an actual airport, giving it a more relaxing and breathable feel. If you're anything like me, who adores traveling (especially by air), then this album will be a wonderful experience.

I might have misjudged this on the first listen, and the music here certainly fits its purpose. Sure, the music is very repetitive and may be boring to some, but it's also very beautiful. Certainly worth a listen.
