5.0 classic | Recreate | October 27th 16 | I'm still gonna jam this in 10 years. It won't even be funny how hard it's gonna get jammed. We're talking about tremendous jamming. This is a lot of riffs. So many riffs. You won't believe the number of riffs. Tremendous riffing. It's huge.

4.5 superb | TheManMachine | August 9th 15 | Too quick for filler and too robust for dismissal, the savvy intensity of their concurrent roles as technical metalcore/hardcore mainstays melds itself alarmingly well into this thrill-ride slab of unabashed comic-book-rockin'. As the artwork implies, be prepared for reptiles, surveillance-paranoia, ivy, and of course, full-on vibrancy - which when inflected with group-woooahhhs and falsetto-screeeeams, can reach power-metal/classic-punk levels of joviality. But they also never fail to deliver that sludgy crush, or excellent instrumental workouts (we are talking Stephen Brodsky and Ben Koller here). And just when it seems they're ready to take it easy on the title-track ender, in comes one Sarabeth Linden to vocally help crank it up just one more preposterous notch.

4.0 excellent | Jared Floryan | August 9th 16 | Reptilian souls are wrapped in our skins, though for inexplicable reasons, we pass that off without a care in the universe. Fortunately Mutoid Man exist to notify the masses about these demons we've been sheltering while not even knowing it. A three-piece hardcore band from New York, Mutoid Man consists of Cave In guitarist and vocalist Steve Brodsky, Converge tiger Ben Koller on drums, and Nick Cageao who completes the lineup, and if the outfit's debut record shows any evidence, it's clear that MM have a radiant future ahead. Clocking in at 29 minutes, Bleeder covers itself with a concrete punk sound whilst merging said direction together with influences of stoner rock and old metalcore - a combo which ends up yielding delicious results. Staying largely consistent as well as energetic throughout, the first studio album from these fine men is a worthwhile experience, and the rawness that the instrumentation exudes only adds to whatever charm Bleeder has in store for the listeners. Feeling a decent to a strong 4 on this thing. Angel recommends: "Reptilian Soul," "Sweet Ivy," "Dead Dreams," "Deadlock," and "Bleeder".

4.5 superb | Minomol | July 2nd 15 | This is the freshest hardcore record of the recent couple of years. Steve making a very good impersonation of Rob Halford during the final, title track.

4.5 superb | cjbizzlebizzle | November 7th 15 | First few listens: OK, cool, fast and crushing sludgey, hard/mathcore, punkish stoner goodness. Later listens: holy moly this album is savage. Brodsky's vocals took me some time to adjust to but he comes off so naturally while covering pure rage to playful melodies. 30' runtime give you an entree portion of aggression and technicality without a single moment wasted. Would be best enjoyed in a tiny, packed, sweaty venue and several double stacked amps. Sweet Ivy and 1000 Mile Stare deserve nods for best tracks of 2015. The ultimate title-track allows the group to slow things down, express emotion and expand a bit out of the mathcore speediness; the album wouldn't be nearly as powerful without this.

4.5 superb | BRAman22 | July 9th 15 | Some great clean sounding metalcore. Clean covers the vocals as well, which are at times quite melodic.

4.5 superb | Apetzar | July 3rd 15 | The hooks are not hookier, don't lie. Lacks the energy of their first work, but these guys are still burning the whole place to the fucking ground like they're supposed to do.

0.0 | jkr5001 | June 18th 15 | Just picked up the album at their show last night. While it's too early to properly rate it, it's not too early to say how awesome my first few spins have been. These guys fucking rock. The album is a big step up from their already awesome debut EP. The riffs are bigger & heavier, it's groovier, the hooks are hookier, and the songwriting is even tighter. Highly recommended. Also, go see them live, if you have the chance.
