Fantastic riffs for days, both hefty/raw and melodic. This album excels at just creating some bloody good hooks and being the fucking riff central of dm. Izza mastapiece.

The two good things about this album are 1) Amazing artwork 2) Great guitarwork - and these two arent enough to redeem the weak points of this record. By which I mean, the production on this album sucks. And the vocals are annoying AF. Overall feels like an uninspired album. Rests in DM slab.

Thank god for Carnage! The band that gave us both DM Carcass and this band: Dismember. Imagine the Carnage debut with added melodic leads making it more varied. Unfortunately I felt it tapered off into mostly just being a thrashy Death Metal apbum towards the end. Might be bump worthy in the future, definitely relistening to this.

A death metal classic which manages to add a pinch of melody to brutal death metal sound while not making it melodeath. Everythings is absolutely amazing on this record crushing riffs, excellent solos, and hellish screams combined with gory lyrics.

Lets just get this out of the way... This is a heavy LP. The guitar tone is great and gives tremolo riffs and superior relentless sound. There are also a lot of great melodies scattered throughout the album making the experience even better. Solid record.

Although they are often looked down upon as being a poor man's Entombed (yes, people actually think that), Dismember's first studio effort is in my opinion better than anything Entombed ever released, not only because it's perhaps the best album to come out of the Swedish Death Metal scene, but within the whole scope of Death Metal. Every song on it is killer and the sound is extraordinary. Paved the road down for many bands to come out of the same scene afterwards.
