Sometimes, Indie Pop is very boring and commercial, being directed to burst in the radio stations and in the local clubs. The vocals always look the same, and the sense of plastic joy with forced melancholia come together to form a sticky melody. Tegan and Sara have their concept and good works, but just the best of them, is what bothered me the most in these concepts. "The Con" is audible and fun at times, but on many occasions, it shows up as a summary of all that is bad this genre.

i think other than their latest album, this is one of their greatest. one of the many things i love about them is that on this record they sound exactly the same as they do live- amazing.

Well, since the album is (legally) playing on MySpace today, I decided to give it a quick "preview" review. OK, some early standouts:

Call It Off
Those five sound amazing. The sound quality also sounds more expansive than their other records... of course, it may be because it's their major record label debut. Has quite a lot of synth in there, well placed. Hmm... sorry this opinion isn't really good. I'll definitely give a more complete, richer review within the week, hopefully. I think this is one of Tegan And Sara's best albums. Fans will love it, non-fans won't.
