Honestly, did the world need another Canadian heartthrob? Right when Justin Bieber started to redeem himself, we're officially introduced to this guy: singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes. Does he make a lasting impression with his full-length debut album? Well, I can certainly say that that's a resounding nope. Whenever Handwritten isn't an insufferable record (avoid top-ten single "Stitches" like the plague), it winds up being materialistic and downright unfun. Mendes' vocals are decent, but not tolerable enough to make this experience any less ho-hum for me. Handwritten is by no means an "end-of-the-world" type of bad offering, although a lot of what comprises the album is an unhealthy dosage of fluff; Mendes, replace that with jelly to go along with the peanut butter during subsequent records and maybe I'll change my mind about you.

Did You know that Shawn Mendes's zodiac sign is a Leo? Just a fact of the 16-year-old Canadian
singer. "Handwritten" is the Vine star's debut album. The album is overall great with its ups and
downs. "Handwritten" is definitely it's own with a unique pop/soul vibe. Shawn Mendes's
"Handwritten" has a variety of tracks from songs about partying to the end to emotional breakup
songs. One track on the album is"Never Be Alone." It includes my favorite lyric on the entire
album, "Take a piece of my heart and make it all your own, so when we are apart, you'll never be
alone." The song itself is good but not a favorite. Another track titled "Air," features female
artist Astrid. The track is okay, starting out good, gradually getting worse. "Kid In Love," is
one of my personal favorites, with deep lyrics and nice guitar. The 12th track titled "This Is
What It Takes," is my ultimate favorite. The guitar and lyrics are on point with the emotional
message really makes the song complete. Shawn?s hit debut single"Life of the Party," making
appearances on music charts all over the world will always be a favorite of mine.
