like most gorgoroth albums, it's just kind of 'there', outright refusing to do anything outside its own well-carved niche. honestly, they've never been the most essential band in the genre and seem to be riding on reputation more than anything. i'm unsure as to why anyone is paying much attention at this point as its been made 100% clear that they aren't throwing any curveballs.

I really liked this one. Atterigner's vocals really did fit into the overall sound, and this "prog/black" style (with death metal production!) was exciting through the entire album. This has grown on me a lot.

Just finished the album. I think it has some great guitar work, and I enjoy the new vocalist. It is slower than older Gorgoroth albums, but it really was way better than I expected it to be after their last record and losing two key members of the band.
