The 'ol boys of Poison still know how to kick a little arse and they show it on this nice collection of covers from years gone past.
The original Poison line up are back in the fold for this one, and the chemistry of the band is still alive and well. Guitarist C.C. Deville is particularly good and seems to have improved over the years, the rhythm section is strong, and singer Brett Michaels sounds a little older but also a little better.
Standout cuts include a toughened up version of The Cars Just What I Needed and Jim Croce's Don't Miss Around With Jim. However those are just two examples on an album full of well performed and well chosen songs done up the Poison way. Which is to say lean hard rock played for fun and with plenty of color, the dry and uninspired ballad choices notwithstanding.
