| 2.5 average | BRAman22 | August 25th 15 | Not as good as Hollywood Undead's first two albums, but it is at least better than that piece of shit third.

| 2.0 poor | Jared Floryan | April 9th 15 | For rap rock unit Hollywood Undead, Day of the Dead is round #4 for them. Unfortunately, they haven't learned much of anything from the past three bouts, as the band continues to humiliate both the listeners and themselves. It's the same song and dance, which is most unpleasant because I know these guys can demonstrate smatterings of potential; the title track, "How We Roll," and "Save Me" are arguably the best songs on this, though that may or may not have to do with these three ditties being noticeably serious compared to pretty much everything else. If Hollywood Undead were to focus more on their songwriting prowess and genuine compassion and less on writing about tig ol' bitties alongside the *wonderful* party time, then they just might have what it takes to dish out a completely bearable record - or so help me, George A. Romero will throw cameras at Charlie Scene.

| 3.5 great | AmbushReality | April 3rd 15 | As Hollywood Undead gets older and more mature, it becomes more and more apparent that tracks such as "Party By Myself" and "Guzzle Guzzle" are added to their albums just to appease the group of fans still hanging on their classic debut Swan Songs. The few party-centered tracks here on Day of the Dead are easily the weak points of the album, alongside the unfocused (and downright strange) "Does Everyone in the World Have to Die." However, this album has several notable highlights. The pop infused "Gravity" is one of the catchiest moments on the album, and across the band's entire discography. Lead single and title track "Day of the Dead" is a hard hitting rap rock anthem that oozes retro Linkin Park flair and begs the question: why not focus their material on mostly serious subjects? That's not to say, however, that they have to drop the "I'm a bad-ass" style songs such as "Usual Suspects" and "How We Roll," which is a formidable 1-2 punch to open the record. While past party hits "Comin' in Hot" and "California" may be two of their biggest, most popular songs, its clear that the only thing holding Hollywood Undead back from being one of the faces of modern radio rock and hip-hop infused rock/nu-metal are the laughably cheesy, weak party filler tracks. This album is not an equal of their impressive debut Swan Songs, nor its [arguably better] follow-up American Tragedy, but it certainly is a catchy and overall solid effort. A more mature focus on upcoming albums should result in a new level of success for this band.

| 3.0 good | pillowhard | March 27th 15 | I can't believe I'm enjoying this so much. The vocalists are doing much more ranges with their voices and the verses flow more differently, unlike NFTU, which is very refreshing. Funnyman also participates more which is awesome. I got tired of Danny's voice in the previous 2 albums but the songs here are so different from each other that you won't get tired of him. Also their instrumentals vary a lot more on this album than the others, even during some verses.

| 4.0 excellent | Nokturn | March 27th 15 | Tonally, this album is all over the place, but that's not exactly uncommon for Hollywood Undead. From their 2008 debut album all the way up to Day Of The Dead, HU's songs vary greatly in both theme and style. Rap, Rock, Pop, Dubstep, and even a bit of Hip-hop punctuate and run through the veins of Day Of The Dead. It's chaotic, it's loud, it's crude, it's outrageous, it's funny, and it's quintessentially Hollywood Undead. If that's what you're looking for, then you're in for a good time.
Highlight songs of the album are: "Does Everybody In The World Have To Die?", "Dark Places", "Save Me", "How We Roll", and "Let Go."

| 3.0 good | MegaJake1024 | March 26th 15 | Let's start out by saying Hollywood Undead is a joke. Let's also say that some of the songs on this album are absolute pop garbage. But now let's also appreciate that War Child will get all the ladies wet, and I'd far rather listen to it than any other dance song. And then let's just admire the good humor of a line like "I get more pussy than a bowl of friskies." Low quality? Yes. Surprisingly enjoyable? Yes. And its very catchy. What makes this album work a bit better for me is the seeming understanding of the band that they're a joke. The poserness is way down.
Tracks to hear: Day of the Dead, War Child, Dark Places, Take Me Home, Does Everybody Have to Die?, Party by Myself, Guzzle Guzzle, Let Go
