Its decent straightforward poppy 'screamo' with synths, much like Nevea Tears, No Hollywood Ending, Early Scary Kids and the like. The Devil Wears Prada comparisons are way off, aside from the synths TDWP play an entirely different genre (That being Metalcore), whereas this band has no traces of metal throughout the whole of the ep.

While reading the May 2007 issue of Alternative Press magazine, I came upon a page advertising several Rise Records artists. Wedged into the middle of the page was a tiny advertisment for Emarosa's This is Your Way Out EP. Thank God I caught that tiny section, or I wouldn't have discovered them while original singer Chris was still in the band.
While most modern post-hardcore bands are content to stay to a formulaic From First to Last-like style, Emarosa strays from the path a bit by virtue of having some really really deep throated roars. While there is alot of screaming on this EP, there is also alot of deep throat roats coming from Chris' mouth. They also manage to couple this with some amazingly beautiful melodic singing. This alternating sing/scream/roar creates some simultaneously beautiful and chaotic moments.
But the thing I like most about this album is how open Emarosa is about their Christian faith. If you listen/read the lyrics carefully, you'll see that this is actually a concept EP, telling the story of the Book of Revelations, or for those of you who didn't brush up on your Bibile trivia, the end of the world. In most of the songs, particularily Casablanca and Epoch Coda, they convey their faith in God, even as the world around them is coming to and end. Kudos to you Emarosa, for an EP well made.

I think jonny craig owes everyone in emarsoa a huge apology for making the band so much worse than it used to be. This album is awesome and so much more intricate and technical than "relativity". It's really too bad that the original band couldn't have stayed together to create more great music. "Utah" is definitely a can't miss song.

best ep i've heard since hopesfall's no wings to speak of. these guys are awesome and this is some of the smartest and meanest hardcore around. very cool how they throw in some electronic sounds here and there. i am waves and armageddon are badbutt

Before Johnny came in and took over the whole damn band, Emarosa was definitely heading in a pretty solid direction. With tracks like Epoch Coda, they showed they new how a progressive track COULD be constructed. It's a shame they didn't continue on in the vein.

I don't think you can compare it to DWP, It's less metalcore and the screaming reminds me more of Underoath. I like Chris vocals on this alot and there is some clever keyboards on it. It's a great EP, though it only lasts for 20 min.

Responding to foreverlostandfaded, I would probably compare this to The Devil Wears Prada. Not because they are both from Rise Records, but it's the way their songs are mixtures of a lot of things. I dunno how exactly to put it, but the instrumentals, varied rhythms, abnormal fill-ins, a lack of breakdowns, clear singing, and some of the heavy riffs all combined together produce a special sound that metalcore can no longer define. Experimental? Go figure. What I can guarantee is impressiveness and awe.

I like this alot, I Dont know what to compare it to, At some points it reminds of Underoath and at others I just cant explain, The singing ranges in many different tones, Interesting to say the least. Im pretty sure everyone should check out this Cd, CEPT for poser , Posers piss me off, well anyways, I really hope someone writes a full review for this, And Check these guys out!!!
