Tim Armstrong's solo effort is definately not perfect. But that's not the point. Operation Ivy, the band which has earned the most respect from users of this website was definately the least talented, sloppiest, and most underproduced band of all of his projects. Yet they were amazing. So although there are weaknesses, lyrically these songs differ from the typical lyrics of Rancid, this is still a great listening experience. But the lyrics are still good, in my opinion. But there are more important things that make this album a good listen. The over all feel of the album is amazing, it's a fun deep grooved album, that is very solid musically. The lyrics are fun to sing along with, and songs like Translator, Into Action, and Lady Demeter demand that the listener get up dance. I might be biased when I give this a five. But for some reason, everything that Tim Armstrong does seems to be appealing to me. The unique sound of this album is amazing, Tim made the two-tone ska genre his own. Im just amazed how he can seemingly do anything with music and yet still have his own unique sound.
