| 3.5 great | Metalplayer2020 | May 31st 07 | I bought this when it came after checking the band out. It's good, definitely better than the works from previous albums, but not truly mindblowing. The two new members have added to the band, with cool basslines and some decent solos. Morgan also does lots more singing and has improved her chops and voice somewhat. Mercedes has better cymbal choices and more interesting beats. Overall, like I said, it's not amazing, but a step in the right direction.

| 3.0 good | Jared Floryan | March 18th 15 | Kittie's fourth studio album Funeral for Yesterday was arguably a step in a different direction, for better or worse. Morgan Lander utilizes more singing on here, with her growls a little less prominent this time around. The instrumentation and overall tone of the recording has a heavy metal edge as well, and it all ends up sounding real acceptable overall. There's no song that truly stands out amidst the rest of the crowd, but Kittie certainly aren't strangers to writing satisfyingly generic material. Now if only they could become better composers, the people who are either indifferent or have a strong, personal grudge against these girls might finally warm up to them.
