I actually found this album burned on CD-R at the public library sometime in July of last year. I took it home to see what was on it and i was blown away by the rawness of the band mixed with the upbeat brass section. Its too bad they couldn't keep a consistent lineup and stay together longer, would have loved to see them live. My favorite ska album

2006)
My recent fandom for Jeff Rosenstock and his brand of modern pop punk doesn’t quite extend to
this album - perhaps because it’s still part of the old scene rather than the no-care,
passion-led vibe he’s been running for about a decade on his solo material. There’s also the
ska and the hardcore influences, which I can only take in doses - and though the doses are
small here, I don’t think either aspects of the sound really add much. There are still hooks
though - it wouldn’t be a Jeff album without them - and some are pretty catchy, serving their
purpose well. Nothing here though sticks in your brain any more than surface level though,
which is a death sentence for an album in a genre built on catchiness.

an instant classic from asob, three cheers for disappointment is a refreshing but familiar sound to their older stuff, with production quality that is through the roof, catchy instrumentals that are guaranteed to get a song stuck in ur head, and relatable lyrics. compared to their prior lp pornocracy, three cheers brings a more upbeat, refined instrumental sound to the table while maintaining the angry, fuck-all lyrics written by the actual god of music jeff frozencock. this album totally rocks!!
