This band takes so much crap for sounding like other bands. Mostly, Coelesce. And yeah, Jayson Holmes (vocals) strikes a very strong resembalence to Coelesce vocals. But From their First album "Bury The Efigy" to "Usurper", The Hanshake Murders have been through a very rough changing experience for metal/hardcore music. And their still sounding like good old southern metal, and represents Arkansas! And over the years they have kind of gotton their own sound. A sound no one els has... I mean if I (and i know many others) heard a song of the Hanshake Murders id never heard befor, I'd know it was them the second i heard the vocals. or right when i heard crazy guitar riffs that everyone keeps critisizing. And i know your will agree with me if you have seen them live! They put on a hell of a show. And in Metal/Hardcore music, if you dont know of the band... its kinda hard to tell one for another. And as for the Handshake murders, they deffenently have a unique sound with "Usurper". So keep it up hanshake murders.
