Napalm Death
Napalm Death are a Grindcore band from Birmingham England. Many say they invented the genre including me. This is their best album (yes better than Scum) I prefer Barneys vocals a lot more then Lee Dorrians. amazing guitar and bass work all round..and Mick Harris is one of the best drummers I've ever heard
Track by track:
1. Vision Quest: Starts off with weird signal sounds then all of a sudden we get a crazy riff then Barney shouts and the song truly begins, pretty much the same all the way through 4.5/5
2. If the Truth Be Known: Classic Napalm, straight away we are introduced to an awesome riff then it stops and the tempo really ups its pace. you can really tell this band has talent on this song. one of the best on album!! 5/5
3. Inner Incineration: this one is a bit slower then the others until around the 1 minute mark it speeds up after barney shouts BLAST! 4/5
4. Malicious Intent: YES! my personal favorite on the album, just listen to that riff. the same riff carries on until around the middle, it slows down with guitar solo i guess you'd call it. 5/5
5. Unfit Earth: A slower song, doesn't really stand out due to the other songs being so awesome but still a great track 3.5/5
6. Circle of Hypocrisy: AMAZING as soon this starts you think one thing...THRASH! at 2 minutes a brutal riff comes in and rips my lungs out my nostrils. 4.5/5
7. The Chains That Bind Us: First thing you hear is blast beats but then after that it slows down. At 1:40 is a nice guitar solo. good to mosh to. 4/5
8. Mind Snare: Mind Snare!!!!!!!!!!! 4.5/5
9. Extremity Retained: Pure brutality right here! makes me want to smash stuff up. Barney has an echo effect in the chorus which is cool. 4/5
10. Suffer the Children: Best ND song ever. it has everything. fast drums face crushing riffs and vocals. if you haven't heard this song then you should be ashamed of yourself and listen to it right away!! the Decapitated cover is pretty bad ass too. 5/5
11. Hiding Behind:The intro sounds almost exactly like Mandatory Suicide by Slayer. This is the slowest song on the album and its a pretty nice break from the bone snapping songs. but around 2 minutes it goes crazy. 4.5/5

The total change in sound from From Enslavement To Obliteration to Harmony Corruption is such that if it were not for the name on the cover, you'd have a hard time telling this was Napalm Death. That can be chalked up to a pretty big turnover, as they lost both Lee Dorrian and Bill Steer, but replaced them with Barney Greenway and Mitch Harris, both of whom are still in the band today. Jesse Pintado was also added on guitar, and the band retained drummer Mick Harris and bassist Shane Embury, the latter of which is still with the band. The big change in sound is that here, rather than the proto-grind they'd been playing before, it's death metal played almost perfectly straight. Too straight, almost, as while every song here is pretty good, no single track really stands out. The production is fantastic, as the whole album has a full, slightly muddy sound that is pleasing to hear. The album has a nice sense of unity as well, and though very little of the grind they used to play was retained here, it's still a very good slab of early 90's death metal, showing that Napalm Death can kick your ass in whatever genre they please.

Napalm Death took their first steps in Death Metal with the consistent and well-executed "Harmony Corruption". Featuring elements of Grindcore and a totally focused sound in the most popular metal style of the 1990s, the band has shown that they also knows to be almost perfect in other styles. The production leaves something to be desired in some aspects, making the bass become almost inaudible. However, the highlight focus on the lyrics that are full of harsh screams and the deafening noise of the entire composition.
