Why can't Phil just stick to his harsh vocals (they sound WAY better) and occasionally use cleans that aren't bastardized by overproduction? The instrumental parts are slightly better than the last album, which saves this from being an absolute disaster. I wish this band would find a new vocalist.

Album sounds like the soundtrack to power rangers.
Its not that I was expecting The Fall of Ideals. Its that this album is literally a joke. A bigger joke than the pop albums of today. There's so many parts of this that are laughable. If this was genuine, I'd like it. It sounds great sometimes. But its just a joke. When he says "desperate times require desperate measures now" in fiat empire for example, clearly just bent the lyrics to fit the melodic structure of the song. It doesn't even fit. And I thought that song sounded great overall. But the whole album is just such a fake piece of garbage. This was Phil stimulating his ego and nothing more. That's why it sucks.
A reason for me to fight and fiat empire are like the catchiest thing ever to me. The problem was not the music (well, it was, but...), the problem was its apparent lack of sincerity. Not the face to face lying kind, but the kind like a teenager struggling to hide from themselves in a disorderly attachment to a false sense of pride.

Probably some of the most excruciating 48 minutes of my life. The All That Remains I grew up loving, the band that I credit as being what got me into heavy metal in the first place with their first couples of albums, is COMPLETELY gone, only showing up in a few brief moments. You thought A War You Cannot Win was generic? Wait til you hear this one. Most of the songs on this album sound like they should be on a Theory Of A Deadman album, focusing more on a radio/hard rock sound with some metal tendencies here or there, which wouldn't be bad if they didn't sound so completely dull. Phil Labonte's singing and writing are probably at their most annoying, and though he does bust out some great growled vocals, they're not enough to save this album. What makes it worse is that he has said many times that he likes to piss off people who complain about the change in ATR's sound, which makes it sound like this is all a joke to him. And it shows completely in the outcome of his music. I was willing to give ATR another try after A War You Cannot Win, and I've even defended the band on albums like Overcome and For We Are Many, but this is the last straw. I don't expect ATR to return to their harder style anymore, and it is a shame because of how incredible This Darkened Heart and The Fall Of Ideals were. This album was a completely let down and has shown me that my faith in ATR was only a waste of time.

Due to the overwhelmingly negative reception All That Remains' latest recording had garnered on Sput, I decided to shoot myself in the foot to see what all the ruckus was about - and dear sweet Neptune, it was becoming as clear as a penguin with 20/20 vision. Originally my rating for The Order of Things was a mere big fat 1.0, though at the time I initially jammed it, the experience was through YouTube and the audio quality was overall pitched up. Almost two months have passed by now and I re-listened to ATR's recent concoction (if you can call it that) via Spotify. In a nutshell, The Order of Things, while only faring slightly better than A War You Cannot Win, is akin to a guidebook on how not to take a more mainstream approach with your music. Phil Labonte's vocal melodies are hackneyed and his once acceptable death growls/screaming are painfully embarrassing, while the songwriting is pretty darn pathetic throughout most of the album. Bassist Jeanne Sagan's singing is unnecessary as well, adding nothing to the so-called atmosphere and swagger. Admittedly, though, *some* of the guitar work here isn't entirely hopeless. At the very end of the day, All That Remains should've been wise enough to know that The Order of Things gives them barely any reason to fight. Recommended tracks: "Fiat Empire," "Criticism and Self Realization," and "Pernicious" to a bit of an extent. Boy, am I a masochist.

I Don't get the hate, I think many of the songs on this album are fine. For example, this probably wont end well and for you are both beautiful songs with good meanings to them if you just listen to the lyrics. No knock is great because it makes you feel immortal and you just want to break stuff and destroy. I also think a reason for me to fight and the greatest generation are just simply catchy fun songs you can jam out in your car too. Finally the last track Criticism and self-Realization, is another beautiful song witch is very much an anthem song for all that remains. it has a good meaning and combines soft vocals and screaming sections effortlessly with great instrumental and head banging riffs. I know this album isn't all that heavy and you got to remember Phil is old and cant scream as much as he used too, so just enjoy the album for what it is. I RATE IT A 3 it is nothing amazing but its not trash and plus all the songs are good length they don't overstay there welcome.

Where was I when these fuckers turned into Theory Of A Deadman? In all honesty, this album isn't as bad as everyone claims. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's good... But if you're a hick nu-metal fan, this album might actually appeal to you.

It's overly ironic that the first tracked is called "This Probably Won't End Well" because that was the first thought I had when I heard ATR had a new album out. I'm almost embarrassed to call myself a fan anymore. I seriously believe something is wrong with Phil's voice. Maybe that's why they ditched the beastly vocals he used to do and replaced them with these softer and easier cleans. Either way, he doesn't sound the same, and neither does the rest of the band. It pains me to give one of my former favorite bands anything lower than a 2, but they give me no choice. My ATR shirt has literally been hanging untouched in my closet for over 5 years, since they haven't had a decent album since then. It will CONTINUE to remain there as well, until the band can find themselves again, while they're lost in the same mediocre radio-rock pool that bands like Five Finger Death Punch and Avenged Sevenfold have fallen into.

When I saw that All That Remains was going to make a new album, I was in all means excited, and thinking to myself what can be wrong with it? A War You Cannot Win was semi-decent. Can they improve? No not at all. This new album, I don't believe they tried, or maybe they are trying to get with modern times of these new bands floating around there, with I think is such a bad move. The Album starts with a ballad, it was wasn't bad, but so tasteless. This song shows what will come next for the remaining tracks. The second track No-Knock(which has to be one the heaviest track, by vocal standards)this song, it will get boring in the first minute and you I'll waiting for the next track, that you wish will be good. As I said earlier their are mainly clean vocals by front-man Phil Labonte. Not saying he has a bad voice, yes we all know he can sing, but I know he can also scream. If this a new a turn from them with the ballad in dosing songs, that by all means they should keep on doing that, but make it work. I will put it like this, the All That Remains that we love is dead. So we have to live with this new one.What will be nice if they return, to what made them great. Lets wait another 3 years see if it happens.

If not for the heavier parts of closer "Criticism and Self-realization" and an occasional so so guitar solo this would be an instant 1. Even that almost wasn't enough to deter me from rating this shit heap the 1 star when I heard the mega bitchfest that is "Tru-Kvlt-Metal".

Goddamn this album is boring. Phil's clean vocals, which make up most of the album, are so bland and auto-tuned that it drowns out most of the instrumentals which are pretty good at times. Pernicious and TRU-KVLT-METAL stand out as the best tracks to me.
