another lovely, versatile release from Jefre. he mixes drone with lush noise and even bits of musique concrete, creating an album that is both beautiful and unsettling. the album is fairly front loaded, as the first 2 tracks are - I'd argue - the highlights. the following tracks feel scattered and nonlinear, and often too short to flourish. still, it works. it feels like sequences of memories running rampant, painting a distorted picture resembling a ruined relationship and the resulting personal turmoil. it's not excessive in emotion necessarily - at times Jefre comes off as very detached and indifferent - but it does seem like underlying emotions are begging to seep through. needs a few listens to 'click', but when it does the result is poignant.
