The Used third album is one that demonstrate the potencial of the band. It is fun, but one can notice how serious the band was when making it. With this album the band is stating the way they want to be seen and they did it in a superb manner. Fun, catchy, energergetic, emotional, and with improved music and vocals, Lies For The Liars is an excellent work that points the band in the right derection. A must get album for both fans, and not fans alike.

Intrinsically The Used's take on pop music with a darker, but no less boisterous post-hardcore sound, Lies for the Liars is quite entertaining for what the album was made out to be. Arguably it might be said that the band's third studio recording is more of a mixed bag, containing certain tracks (for instance, "Wake the Dead" and "Pretty Handsome Awkward") that are better than others ("Liar Liar (Burn in Hell)" and lead single "The Bird and the Worm"). In the main, Lies for the Liars was basically The Used's attempt at keeping away from the pigeonhole, and it's not too surprising to see that they had varying levels of success.

Looking back on this, there’s really only a few songs here worth revisiting (The Bird and the Worm, Pretty Handsome
Awkward, Wake the Dead) and the rest kinda just melt together into one very blah sounding mix. Idk maybe it’s just me.
Still better than new Used though

This is generally a bias rating but i don't hate the used; thier first album was amazing, i just feel more and more negative about them with every release as i feel like as the years go by they seem to be getting worse and worse, with nothing getting anywhere near the quality of their debut. However if i were to look at the releases objectively, like i generally do, they wouldn't be half as bad, possibly a 2 at the worst, yet i find myself unable to do so and as a result my objectivity rating is lower than it would be. REMEMBER: this is just my warped opinion and it is something you should ignore.

To be honest i think this isnt one of their better albums.. i mean it was kind of a fail except for Paralyzed, With Me Tonight, The bird and the Worm, and only because it was the first song id ever heard from the used- the ripper. Liar Liar was okay, but i didnt think it was clever to have 'Hospital' right after it considering that its once again another song about liars.. :|

THe Used ditches much of their sound heard on previous albums and move in more of a rock direction while maintaing their signature sound . Some well executed hard rocking tracks include ?The Ripper? and ?Pretty Handsome Awkward.? The Used has always had a knack for writing groove-driven, dance tracks, previously most obvious on ?Lunacy Fringe? on their previous album. With Lies for the Liars, they emphasize this unusual talent and write the near flawless track ?Paralyzed.? Overall a great album.

This album is different from anything the Used has ever done, but is still very diverse. It is darker, and at the same time more relaxed then anything they've ever done. It sounds similar to My Chemical Romance, which is a bad thing, but it's nothing critical. For me it took me more then 1 listen to get use to this. There's not much amazing here musically, but you can see they've musically grown. I'd have to say the only thing rediculous about this album is Chadam. Enjoy.
