i racked my brain for a while to come up with something for this soundoff.
ironic response? nothing.
"idgaf hipster" response? nothing.
faux-facetious response? nothing.
actual fucking response? nothing.
and then all that made me realize: I cannot put into words how terrible this
album is. there are literally no auditory sounds I can make to motion how bad
this album is. it is bad.

I never thought such a predicament would stare me down right in the face. Periphery have made my ears uncertain, especially if their third studio album Juggernaut is taken into account. The first chapter of this release featured very acceptable instrumentation, but the melodies that were employed seemed rather underwhelming; Spencer Sotelo's vocal performance was a bit inconsistent, too. Omega is the second and final part of this double record, with the songs containing a slightly heavier sound. All's I can say is that the last two tracks are solid, though the ones which come before them do suffice.

Continuing from part one, Omega encompasses the heavier side of Periphery's Juggernaut double album. However, that doesn't mean that they've sacrificed their fantastic songwriting which was prominent on Alpha. They continue to prove themselves with each song that passes by, including the 11 minute title track which could almost rival "Racecar" from their first album. After listening to both albums all the way through, I can definitely say that Juggernaut as a whole is Periphery's best work to date. They not only have improved greatly from their first album, but have grown into more than just the leaders of the "djent" movement. They are a progressive metal powerhouse filled with great musicians who know how to weave a musical story together. If they are becoming this generation's Dream Theater, this is their Metropolis 2. It's a fun, poppy, heavy, epic, and all around incredible album that will easily be one of the best albums of 2015, if not all the way at the top of the list. 9/10

I wasn't quite sure how to rate this album. It is undeniably heavy and has continued in
expanding my love for prog, yet something still feels missing. The musicianship is fantastic
and the vocals are solid. I'd definitely listen to it again.I could headband away with
heaviness and smile at the technicality. The songs seemed to blend together almost too much,
excluding "The Bad Thing". Perhaps it is just like that due to my first listen, but it
didn't feel like it hit on all cylinders like I know Periphery can do. It didn't quite reach
the same anthemic heights as Marigold does and misses the edge that is shown on Icarus
Lives.

The album Periphery always had in them, absolutely brilliant and single-handedly saves the entire Juggernaut double album from the inevitable mediocrity that Alpha would've left it in on its own. It's nice and concise and plays to all their strengths.

Ok I liked this album, but didn't love it. I like Priestess, Stranger Things and Omega. Gravels got old and the bad
thing is boring. Misha' guitar work is the weakest out of all 3 guitarists. Jake and Mark blow him out of the water
with feel and musicality. Spencer's vocals are awesome. Matt's Drumming is more interesting. The album needed
some longer songs
