Fucking hell, this album is absolutely insane. Some of the most intense drumming you will ever hear. Hold Your Horse Is is a relentless album from start to finish. The best math rock album I've heard in my opinion. To put it simply, this album is has no ups and downs, light and shade or slow and fast - It's just an overwhelming, non-stop shred-fest of crazy drums chops and hyper guitar licks.

Absolute measured chaos, the best, wildest drumming I have listened to in a long time. Not hooking me immediately but you can tell with this kind of mathy anarchy that itll grow on you with patience, which definitely excites me

Wait there only are two dudes here? Zach Hill is on absolute fire here, drumming like an octopus with a speed addiction, while Spencer Seim follows the drum patterns by strumming his 'tar like a maniac. The symbiosis between the two musicians is astounding: everything's so in sync. The more obtuse and lengthy moments (eg "City Folk Sitting, Sitting") do not have the same impact as the frenzied short burst of brutal prog ("Biblical Violence", Brown Metal") and since these longer tracks appear at the end of the record, the second half is a tad tiring compared to the first one. It's fun twiddly chaos.
