0.0 | sin69 | December 17th 10 | Starts out really strong with Into Oblivion (Reunion), which is one of FFAF's best songs.
Sadly they don't deliver anything else. All other songs are pretty bland, weak and they
could use much, much more diversity. The main focus is on singing which is quite dull except
for the said song. None of the instruments stand out and they are hardly noticeable
throughout the album. Poor, poor effort...

3.0 good | punks101 | October 18th 08 | A decent and respectable shot at a concept album with solid song writing. The high note of the album is that its all interrleated as a single storyline that makes the listener envision an epic journey through the adventures from the deep ocean. However it fails to generate any climax and never gets any momentum from the pop/indy melodies.

4.0 excellent | Altmer | September 23rd 08 | The rawness of their earlier recordings has been replaced with a more polished sheen. Gone are the screams and growls and in come exclusively clean vocals. Purists may not like the more mellowed out sound on this record, as they went from posthardcore to sounding more like regular alternative rock a la lostprophets, but the tunes are better and meatier. Apparently these guys have found their songwriting groove, because songs like lead single "Into Oblivion (Reunion)" are exactly what I want to hear from this band at this point. If they keep it up, I can't wait to see where their next one will lead us.

3.5 great | industrialjunkie92 | August 6th 08 | The songs are each, sets of powerful epics. FFAF seem to function better if they have a reason to be playing. A concept album may be they're reason, even if it is just a temporary one.

3.0 good | AmericnZero02 | December 14th 07 | The most disappointing album of 2007 in my opinion, Tale’s Don’t Tell Themselves abandon’s nearly everything that made Funeral for a Friend the great band they were on their last two albums. The days of drummer Ryan Richards screaming appear to be gone. The lack of technicality from nearly every musician almost destroys this album completely. While tracks such as “One for the Road” and “The Sweetest Wave” seem to carry on with no sufficient resolution, a handful of great tracks make a valiant effort to make up for them. “Into Oblivion (Reunion)” offers individual parts from each guitarist throughout the song and make it a diverse track. While in the past this has been a signature characteristic of Funeral for a Friend’s sound, unfortunately now it has become a rarity.

0.0 | | May 25th 07 | ewwwwwwwwww this is just bad. Worse then hours, I Didnt think they were gonna go down hill any more after that worthless hunk of cd. I listened to them when Casually dressed & deep in conversation came out and it was amazing...... but now i guess being an emo bitch and being 12 all over again is all the rage... Hopefully someday they pull there heads out of there asses and go back to being good.

3.5 great | sarah101 | May 24th 07 | i fucking love ffaf!
i saw them live on 23rd of may!!!!
so, like yesterday!
it was so cool, i saw them at the cambridge corn exchange!!
they started with into oblivion and went straight into all the rage!
they played roses for the dead and i cried cos the lead singer gave a little speech befor they did it, that song means a lot to me!
ive given it 3.5 because their extremely good but the album 'hours' was much better!
