| 1.5 very poor | sspedding | November 3rd 14 | Dire. A scattergunned mish mash of riffs and breakdowns. Allegiance seems an awful long time ago and As Blood Runs Black should have given up on the back of that.

| 1.0 awful | Durrzo | October 29th 14 | Absolute trash. Extremely over the top vocal production, making any actual talent the new guy may
have hard to hear, or care about. They still can't write riffs for shit, I honestly couldn't get
through the whole thing. Boring as can be, I just skimmed each song. Band has been around for
years and they haven't progressed at all. These guys simply don't have any songwriting skills. I
hear they're breaking up after their next tour. That would be for the best.

| 3.5 great | Alabaster Jones | August 25th 17 | After their sophomore record Instinct, which was literally a worse version of their noteworthy debut Allegiance, As Blood Runs Black underwent a change. Their focus on melodic death metal riffs and speedy drum work stood pat, but the songwriting improved and they sounded more energized and passionate. Ground Zero documents this change, and shows that even a full eight years after their debut, the band was still one of the most solid Gothenburg-influenced deathcore bands around. The songwriting here is smoothed out and more fluid with added groove, while the vocals also have more range, even into clean singing, which doesn't hurt things at all. The production got much better, and as stated before the energy levels were raised to palpable levels. It's got a similar endgame as the two before it, but the personality is different enough to distinguish it from its predecessors. Who knows if they'll ever come out with another record; if they did I'm sure it would be just as solid as this.

| 2.5 average | Zanareth | January 10th 15 | A fairly average, mildly entertaining deathcore album that will at least hold the deathcore fan's attention well enough for most of the album's 33 minute length. Addition of clean vocals and a few standout riffs make this at least slightly memorable. Overall it is nothing to get excited about. The band apparently scammed hundreds of people with their Indie GoGo campaign to make this album, which makes the listening experience, at least to me, a little less pleasant. Skip this unless you're a decent fan of deathcore, and you are able to get past the fact that this album was made with money that was essentially stolen from loyal fans.

| 2.0 poor | Jared Floryan | November 11th 14 | There's very little musical progression throughout Ground Zero's 33-minute run, and the guitar riffage bears nothing but a bitter aftertaste. While the clean vocals that do show up are fairly decent, and the same can be said about the instrumental track "Rumple", virtually every other aspect of this record feels far too primitive and vanilla-like.

| 2.0 poor | melodicdrama | November 11th 14 | The sad thing is that listener is disaffected to this album after first song. ASBR is presenting stagnacy *feel sad*.
