The first album, while good, felt like a half-baked, misunderstood interpretation of Gorguts' Obscura. This album feels like it's trying too hard to break that mould and suffers due to lack of interesting songwriting, solid riffs and a guitar tone that doesn't suit the dissonant atmosphere being used so successfully by their contemporaries.
