| 2.5 average | Dethtrasher | July 2nd 09 | King Of The Distant Forest is a decent Viking metal album. Even if the music sounds like basic black metal you will notice that there is a bit more than that. The melodies have a really good folk-touch to them and they sound great in both fast and slow paces. The overall music is very intense and aggressive but also quite melodic and almost half-epic. But due to a very one-dimensional vocal performance and an annoying buzzing guitar sound makes this album very hard to enjoy. ''Hail Me'', ''King Of The Distant Forest'' and ''In A Time Of Tales'' are really good tracks but the rest of the album is more or less completely forgettable.
