The capacity of human intelligence seems to limit the capabilities to expand upon any possible
creative aptitudes. Indeed, if one cannot even notice the facets that the ingenuities around him
are comprised of, how can he be expected to fashion a beast of his own? This inveterate sense of
constraint is a great blow to the veracity of mankind's abilities. It restrains us and holds our
minds to the ground below, averting any possibility of rising above ourselves to something
greater; something not fathomed by the conventional mind. This concept of seeking to go beyond
one's self, known as "transcendence", is essentially a gateway to unlocking pieces of ourselves
that can lead to some of the most elaborate and significant creations of our world. For many, this
quest to transcend and form creations that were once considered unthinkable and overwhelming
consumes life. Certainly it is rare to find such people, but when they are found, creative
barriers are destroyed.

sometimes i laugh about it, i think that's the best way to approach something like this. smae was my first love. she's had other lovers before me sure, but smae was mine and what we had together cannot be replicated. even attempting to articulate the love smae and i had for one another is a most arduous and likewise futile task. i cannot go one like this anymore smae, seeing how many people abuse you now makes me physically ill. will i miss you? perhaps. the stars at which we once enjoyed gazing will be much more lugubrious, however my abstruse mind now has found sudden pellucidity. farewell smae, i loved you more than you will ever know.

I suppose it is fitting that Death Grips (presumably) end on their most rugged and abrasive set of tracks to date, and which is certainly their best work in years. MC Ride is up to his usual tricks, but he still sounds as angry and schizophrenic as he ever has. The production on the album is extremely heavy, making use of booming drums, thick basslines, dissonant guitar samples, and industrial noises. It's a bit of an acquired taste, like most of their records, but I wouldn't say it's fully inaccessible. Take the awkwardly catchy and memorable hook of "Pss Pss" for example. And of course, it wouldn't be a Death Grips album without some quotable one-liners scattered around, "The Powers That B" being an obvious example. If this is truly the end for Death Grips, at least they left with a massive and spectacular bang.

DG almost sounded like a parodied version of themselves on niggas on the moon, saved thanks to the
creative use of bjork vocals allover the project. Jenny Death meanwhile takes a surprisingly melodic flavor.
Many of these textures guitars are slightly reminiscent of Exmilitary, but expanded as an intergral part to the
band sound, resulting in trashy-art rap rock. I still find myself questioning how serious this really is (i mean how
much darker could these guys get). And now they might not even be done. Whatever, it sure is another
thrilling chapter in the Death Grips discography. However, is this the melodic high they end on, or do they
continue into Death Grips 2.0?

Death Grips' best record since The Money Store. Jenny Death is the band's most aggressive work yet; really, this thing borders on hardcore punk. The production is chaotic but clear, MC Ride is in great vocal form, and the lyrics are fantastic. The song structures are not as sporadic as Niggas on the Moon, though they are decidedly less straightforward than The Money Store. Is Jenny Death the last we'll hear from Death Grips? Doubtful. If it is, though, this is a good way to go out.

Each track feels has more weight and aggression, thanks to the intricate layers of noisy beats with new additions of distortion-drenched guitars which complement DG sound perfectly. My only gripe lies with its repetitive nature of how various tracks flow as the album progresses. Thankfully, I think this was corrected in their following release.
