Typical rock n roll-ish AC/DC album. The positive is that they are all nice tracks, however, it becomes monotonous after a couple of listenings. The rhythm section is simple in order to avoid experiments with the departure of Malcom and the pattern 4/4 as always. Recommendations: "Rock or Bust", "Rock The Blues Away", "Baptism By Fire", "Rock The House"

Words cannot describe my eternal, seething hatred for this band, this album, and everything they represent. At certain times they almost made me disregard the entire 80s as a whole due to their shlock cock approach of making a guitar sound like a tinny wank for 40+ minutes every five or so years. No amount of production trickery will save this, nothing can keep this band from being anything more than an dilapidated relic from a time where they somehow managed to be even worse than Cyndi Lauper.

Rock or Bust is average at best with uninnovative and repetitive tracks. The lyrics are bland and mostly just a copy of the lyrics of their entire career. But the album still offers some decent tracks like "Rock or Bust", "Rock the Blues Away", "Baptism By Fire", and "Emission Control".

ROCK OR BUST is mostly a bust for me. Newer fans might not immediately recognize the problem due to the slick production and likable performances by Brian Johnson & Angus Young. But once you unwrap the slick, glossy packaging, it's the same tired pop-infused hard rock that the band has been hawking since the mid-80s. If I chose never to listen to this album again, I can't think of a single song I'd feel bad about missing. The songs remind me a lot of the BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO album, but not quite as catchy. Even if the band does occasionally find an enjoyable groove, Brian's lyrics are just too goofy to really want to make me pump my fist and say "Yeah!!" They've just become embarrassingly bad through the years and it's hard to sell your song with such silly messages. I'll take a pass on this one.

The thing that makes this album better than Black Ice is how perfectly it flows. The band's decision to make a shorter record in duration, really pays off. Clocking at 35 minutes, the album is perfectly listenable no matter how stale or repetitive the music may sound like.
