Mare Cognitum's first two full-lengths were phenomenal, not to mention the unbelievable split album "Sol" with
Spectral Lore but damn Phobos Monolith really impressed me. It's beautiful, melodic and has an atmosphere
that just reeks of melancholy, yet at the same time it manages to be very dark, and somewhat ominous as
well. Essential atmospheric/ambient black metal... "Weaving the Thread of Transcendence" is definitely one of
the most epic songs released this year. breath taking.

Cosmic tremz and some of the best programmed drums do kinda (but not entirely) make up for the songs' lack of punchiness. When it does punch it's absolutely epic but I wish it didn't only happen in the second half.
