| 4.0 excellent | GoldenGuy444 | February 23rd 23 | Not phenomenal by any means musically (although I'd argue the production is top tier), it does however succeed in bringing a wide variety of different inspirations and set ups and morphing them into the Knife Party "brostep" language.
The extended runtime lets the tracks breathe and force itself to try new things, which works more often then not. Boss Mode with its sharp synth cutting through the drop with a distorted determination. EDM Trend Machine revels in its own atmosphere, not letting the usual 'in your face' synth and production cut through quite as hard. It does get a bit silly,
especially in its later tracks with Micropenis and Superstar both working in their own way but have aged more due to their jabs at humor then the actual musical content. Kaleidoscope, however, closes the album with a spacey chill conclusion that holds up perfectly. An album full of straight in your face bangers that doesn't try to hide that fact, its an acquired
taste, but one I still quite enjoy.

| 1.0 awful | Spitowned | February 28th 16 | Well, the album's title is compelling at least...

| 2.0 poor | Jared Floryan | November 30th 14 | Without any real character, substance, or much likability, Abandon Ship - the debut album by EDM outfit Knife Party - just comes off as a namby-pamby excuse for delivering the goods to any dysfunctional house party or night club. It's nothing offensively bad, though the record is offensively generic at the end of the day.

| 1.5 very poor | justanothername | November 24th 14 | The EP's were better as they were a lot shorter so I didn't mind it when it was a few minutes long, now with it being nearly an hour it gets really tedious and it doesn't work. At least it'd be good live....I guess

| 1.5 very poor | AmbushReality | November 13th 14 | Instead of maintaining the catchy, head-bobbing, banger dubstep style from their earlier releases, the former Pendulum members have decided to basically run with the trends of the EDM crowd. Out goes the signature Knife Party dubstep sound, in with the recycled, cut-and-paste progressive house and trap/hip-hop beats. It doesn't work, and makes for a very boring release from start to finish. Lets all go back to jamming Centipede and Rage Valley, and forget this LP even happened.rOr better yet, back to listening to Pendulum. One can only hope Rob and Gareth return to their roots at some point. After the disaster that is Abandoned Ship, hopefully they see it as necessary as I do.

| 0.0 | VaxXi | November 12th 14 | Props to Knife Party finally evolving their sound to be more than generic dubstep. As its now generic everything. But this album is a really cluttered mess of bad ideas, forgettable bangers, and re-hashes of older tracks (Give It Up = Bonfire) honestly I have no qualms with Rob Swire and Gareth McDonaldsBurgers deciding to ditch any and all creative liberty they had in favor of more mainstream and waterdowned sound. But I would appreciate if they at least pretended to give a shit about it.rWould I recommend this anyone? Not really, unless you like beyond generic electronic music and want to stick around for the few stand outs that do happen to exist. But for the most part you're better off listening to any other mainstream electronic release.

| 3.5 great | cookiedivine | November 12th 14 | Not as fun as I would have hoped, but still some great tracks.
Boss Mode, 404, EDM Trend Machine, Superstar and Micropenis are standouts for me!
