Since the inception of her career, Fergie has been through and through one of the most incompetent, intolerable artist I've ever had the dissatisfaction of listening to. Fergie's persona is that of a pseudo-gangster female most prominent in her more successful band The Black Eyed Peas whose songs epitomize simplicity. London Bridge might be one of the worst songs to come out in the 00's due to its bland repetitiveness and ridiculous sexual connotations, and the rest is just as bland and uninspired. By the end, the irony shines through on track 'Finally', as it seems clear that Fergie too has acknowledged how exasperating The Dutchess has been. Atrocious in every conception of the word; avoid at all costs.

Why do I even bother. This went to the bin faster than a janitor from a tin roof. I would just want to tear glamourous into pieces. The only good thing with this is that it'll make others sound better.

It's a given that according to Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, more commonly known for her tenure with The Black Eyed Peas (the musical equivalent of jarring accessibility), sex sells in the pop music industry; at the very least, this is how I see it. Anyway, Fergie's debut album as a solo artist The Dutchess is through-and-through trite and hardly cuts corners as much as it allows this preposterous skank to give herself papercuts. There isn't anything on here you haven't heard elsewhere and because of will.i.am's involvement, all the songs with the possible exception of "Big Girls Don't Cry" have no real glaring strengths.

Suprsingly enough, Fergie managed to pull of a decent solo output, filled with a handful of pop gems such as "Fergalcious" and the ballad "Big Girls don't cry". However, track like the god-awful "London Bridge", make it an uneasy but very promising ride.
