they've come in the past few years.

The first song is admittedly very DT, and the second didn't leave much impression besides being airy. The epic is the best part, giving us what we love about Haken. It has the counterpoint vocals, the soaring choruses, the riffs, and yes...the doodly-doodlies. Not bad for demo remakes, but don't expect it to match the The Mountain.

A great EP. The first 2 songs are solid (not amazing, granted), but Crystallised is an out and out masterpiece. Can't wait to see these guys live on Friday!

First Haken release I'm not too enamored with. Very few of the melodies stick with me, and it's starting to sound scarily close to a pure wank band...

Closer is magnificent. An excellent piece composed of all sorts of influences, and even hints towards Haken?s more djenty future towards the end. The first 2 tracks are solid too, but nowhere near as good.

It's Haken, but more concise as prog-metal can be. rI agree with others above (below?) that you can hear some DT *influence*, but to my ears Haken manage to sound different to their forefathers.

They're sounding more and more like DT each day. And no, that is not a good thing.rThis EP is not necessarily bad, its just quite boring. I'd rather listen to Visions any day over this.
