| 2.2 poor | Voivod STAFF | September 10th 14 | According to the short press release note giving away Malice at the one-man band's bandcamp page, "this album delivers a crushing blow from start to finish". However, what's really offered in Decibel's debut album is the exact same hypnotic drum pattern from start to finish, with subtle and totally predictable transitions, and solid but all too generic riffing. Still, the album kind of becomes more involved during the two last songs. The almost-spoken goth (?) vocals are kind of interesting, the same applies for the guttural ones too. Overall, the album's more drone-y than doom/sludge-y, but without the inherent perks of all mentioned genres.
