First pre-release 1 I've ever given but my faith in this band is unwavering and TLLA is one of the most emotional, pivotal musical experiences of my life. Hiding and Repine are both phenomenal and this has been my most anticipated release of 2014 since December.

Not very objective rating as some of my best mid' 20 memories belong to this album. But nonetheless I still think it's a great album that takes some time to reach you.

Not bad, but all songs feel kinda underdeveloped, as they stop when things start to get interesting. "Repine, The Queen" and "Say Nothing" are crushing.

This album has a much more pop feeling to it than their other records, beyond the obvious post-rock/emo. Album feels quite flat, and more like a collection of songs than a real album with structure and evolution. The songs work very well in a vacuum, but as part of the overall album they just blend together due to the lack of dynamics. This makes most of the songs pretty forgettable - even though the album has really excellent tracks too. A lot of songs also feel like they end when really they should have started exploding. A lot of climatic moments are missing, which contributes to the album feeling bland.

This album is just growing and growing in my opinion of it. It's all about what isn't said what we can't say. The energy they have exuded in prior albums is all implied instead of grasped here. Lack Long After is the baptismal fire. Keep You is the soothing water. Let go and dive in and you'll find something you love.
